Today as most days they got their favorite treat. Black soldier fly larva. They also got whole oats today which was a big enough hit. They found themselves some wild grapes too. Oh forgot they also got some chicken noodle soup. My husband dropped a can while unloading groceries and it actually broke open. They ate it but love the BSF larva the best.

Spot my first layer, love them so much she jumps inside the square compost bin to get at them instead of waiting for me to throw some out.

Ear of raw corn. It didn't last long.
Put hanging from a string that someone on here talked about.

White beans, millet, zucchini, eggplant, their first mushroom ( a grab, run, chase) and canteloupe pulp with seeds. I wish the people of the world could eat as well as these chickens, and this was their snack in addition to their feed and whatever foliage and bugs they found.

My 4 tiny serama chicks got some worms I bought from the feed store. They went crazy and was so funny to watch them play chase and tug o' war.

Mine got some cooked oatmeal this morning, then BOSS for their evening snack. My son also found out the hard way that they like homemade strawberry ice cream. He made the mistake of leaving his bowl on the porch while he came in for a drink. The girls LOVED it

I gave mine the shells and inedibles(for humans)from some boiled crabs we had this afternoon. They went after that stuff like it was the last food they were ever going to get. They do love picking that stuff clean. Of course I didn't let them have the stuff that could get caught in their craw.
