What type of duck should I hatch

I happen to like the swedish , though you may get a variety of colors. Are your two ducks both female?

What do you mean by that, I will seprate the ducks I hatch from the Big boys.

That's fine for now, but what about 5 months after they hatch. You should have 3-4 hens per drake to keep them from being over mated. Since your hatches will be about 50/50 normally, you will need a plan for your excess drakes. Their are several to think about, drake jail where you keep your drakes separate from the hens, rehoming excess drakes, freezer camp .I did not have a plan for my first hatch and had to scramble to fashion a drake jail. Then try to rehome the guys. so I was hoping to save you from my mistake.

Calls were the first duck I tried incubating, you just have to be more diligent hatching them than most breeds, up to you.

Cayugas, pekins, and welsh harlequins can be very tame !! So can muscovies

I adore Muscovy. Dual purpose and very social. They are seasonal layers but the time span is like 9 months. Very social birds if you invest a little time in them. also very broody and good mothers.

I think Pekings are wonderful, sweet and friendly. So are Ancona's and Khaki Campbell's. They all are wonderful though!
