If they´re feeling frisky, and there´s not a male around who wishes to oblige, the females will mount each other. Ducks can be particularly frisky.
However, you can know for sure, like telling by their behaviour, voices, etc, as already has been said. If some of us were to go to your place and watch them, we´d have it sussed ok. My first geese, I had no idea, but since my first lot of goslings, I´ve learned and last year I got it 100% right.
But, of course, the obvious one is if you get an egg mostly every other day, then you´ll know you have a pair. Just keep watching them, note any differences, and when you have the next batch of youngsters, you´ll also have it sussed. I´d be surprised if it turns out to be a male.
