I love the brooder plate - going on 22 chicks with it, no problems and the chicks seem happier. I won’t go back to the heat lamps and can’t see using any other method except a broody.

I wanted a brinsea 1200 heat plate but they were out of stock when I needed one so I got a 12x12 rent-a-coop plate with the pyramid top (to keep the birds from pooping on the plate), & I loved it & they did too. I had 15 birds under it for 4 weeks, by week 4 they would sleep around the perimeter in a big square with their butts under it & heads out. It was so cute! & I never had to worry about a fire (the room I brooder in had wood paneling on the walls so I was super paranoid).

My whole house is made of real wood and wood paneling 😬 not to mention the thick layer of dog hair and dust that comes with county living I was horrified of fires.
While I’m a stay at home mom there are time I had to leave and was always nervous the plate became a no brainer!
