what type of pigeon is this?

yeah there are some people that breed homer pigeons around here i think some of them might have gone wild and started nesting at the mall where my sister found this little fella i don't really care if it isn't a pure bred one or a fancy one i like it anyway it is a very loyal pigeon i thought it might be a mix thanks everyone for your comments and all the info :)

This pigeon btw is a young one so why in your Opinion do you think it is not a feral / rock pigeon?

I would go for a homer, it could be a scrawny strain ... ,and the white flights DO EXSIST in the homing breed

I already explained what feral was. I know homers can have white flights. The bird was found wandering around a mall. By definition that makes it a feral pigeon. But that doesn't say anything about the breed. Feral is not a breed. The bird is majority if not completely based on homing pigeons in my opinion.

I personally think it may have some domestic pigeon in its family tree. How ever outside of some forensic DNA testing their is no real way to find out.

All pigeons have some homing ability is my experience. Even if it is just finding their way back to the loft from around the corner. I hope you have good luck with the little guy and he brings as much joy into your life as my pigeons.

Good luck Decomposed!

thankyou :) he didn't look like any pigeon i have ever seen he has tiny legs for his size the wild pigeon type birds around here are crested pigeons and spotted turtle doves so maybe he is a domestic crossed with one of them lol he does bring me a lot of happiness i love all birds especially loyal ones so he is the perfect pet for me :)
