Hello-What a beautiful day it is here in sunny Jacksonville Florida.

I thought I read somewhere on here it is good to give your chicks vitamins. If memory serves me it was polyvisol. Is is ok to use Polyvisol with Iron. Also why would I give the chick vitamins? Sorry for all the questions but I have CHEMO brain and I can not remember nor find it under search.

PLEASE HELP!
Thanks
DeeDee

I am not sure about the iron part, but I have given a weak chick some of the poly-visol and it did seem to help. It is alive and well today.

Using infant vitamons is for sick chickens only. If your chick/chickens are well and eating commercial feed and getting treats you have no need for vitamins. Everything the chickens need are in the feed. It is only when a chicken is physically stressed and becomes ill that it might need a nutritonal boost to help their immune system kick in and get through it.

I strongly advise you not to give your chickens infant vitamins if it is not sick.
