Something got my Brahma Roo last night, but didn’t eat him. Just killed him and left him lay. What predator would do this? Fred was a free range chicken. He has never been in a coop since he showed up a year and a half ago. He was still intact, just feathers everywhere. What would kill a chicken and then not eat them??? Rest In Peace buddy

Fred: Brahma, around 3 years old

I'm going go with dog.
Maybe at some point your roo left his roosting spot or fell off it? Then a dog got to him. Usually dogs bite shake kill and that's about it. Not often do they eat them. Just think they are walking squeak toys.
I agree. Most likely dog. I’ve lost 2 birds to neighbors dogs. It’s just fun for them. Once their “toy” stops moving the game is over. I don’t think any wild predator is killing and then leaving the spoils behind. I’m so sorry. Fred was so beautiful.
I have never seen a dog around here though. Me and my 3 dogs are always out and about. My neighbor has 3 little ones, but Fred was 5 times their size, and they run from their own shadow, (LOL). I will definitely be looking around the neighborhood and setting traps!!!
