What was your free mystery chick from Murray Mcmurray hatchery??

Mine hatched 5/8 and received the next day. I ordered 3 white giants and 2 light brahamas and 5 ee's and 15 heavy brown layers. I do have a mystery chick also. But the 15 are also mystery to me. The fun part is watching getting their little feathers as they grow.

Is it a Cuckoo Maran or a Dominique? We received a Dominique cockerel. He is quite a calm, gentle bird!

packing peanuts arent actually packing peanuts, it means extra chicks (usually roos) that are thrown in for warmth to ensure the order arrives safe, happy and healthy!

Yes. this was taken last week age 8 weeks.


I am new to chickens too, so I have no idea what to look for besides red combs.

Still nothing saying roo for that dominique there. Nice bird to get as a mystery.
I think the males are lighter in color than the females. Your bird is quite dark.

I got a dark brahma. I can't tell if its a roo or not, but its a loner....the other birds from my order pick on it a lot. Nice looking bird whatever the case though,10 weeks old tomorrow.
