Yep, or let's climb in and stand in it! I have one that is a big metal pan that they love to drink out. Especially, once one them has stood in it already. Blech.

I keep 'low profile' storage bins w/water in them around the yard for them to cool off in during the summer. Without fail, after I clean it they will poop in it and then turn around to drink it.

This is starting to make me think it's an intentional repoopulation of microorganisms in their gut flora

Me too, lol. We got snow in January but it was a fluke. We hadn't had that much ever since record keeping began!

I have 15 birds right now, and they're all bantams. Including 2 bantam cochins, one of which is definitely female. And I'm getting 4 Orpingtons in a couple of weeks. My other bantams are d'Uccles, an OEGB, a Sebright, a silkie, buff brahmas, and an EE.

That works with most of them, but Rubio, an upstart just coming into his own, is the poster child for the children's story, "The Little Gingerbread Man." He's a real stinker! He's not aggressive, just really, really fast ... and insistent on staying outside!

I have a Taz . . 'nuff said, lol. I've only had hands on Taz maybe 5 times since he was 2 weeks old. He's now 7 months old. I have to break out the net when I need to grab him.

I also have a side yard I'll put the birds in when I need them out of the way if I'm cleaning their run. I'll have most of the birds lured in and Taz will stop dead at the gate and alarm call, they all scatter back to the main yard or run. He's lucky he makes really cute chicks or I'd roast that bird, lol.
