What would eat just the bunnies head and leave the body at night?

here's another idea....

Last year we had a momma bunny in an outside run, she had babies in there and so did our momma cat...The momma cat ended up killing the baby bunnies to feed her kittens and teach them to hunt...
She killed them by eatting the heads and leaving the bodies. Then it was up to the kittens to get the bodies....

In a matter of less than 10 minutes all the baby bunnies were gone. It was a sad sad day when that happened...I went out to feed everyone and all was good. By the time I finished feeding all the rabbits and walked past the run I seen all the baby bunnies laying on the ground with no heads(and found the momma cat with the last one--head almost completely gone)...So I know it was her and not another animal for that situation...

I dont ithink it would be a weasel. I had a French Lop who was killed by a weasel and it just had part of the back of the neck bit off. They only drink the blood. Alot of animals could get into a chain link fence. Sorry for her lose. I hate it when those things happen.

She learned a hard lesson. I explained to her that chickens and bunnies are at the bottom of the food chain and you had to develop some thick skin to raise poultry (at least). She didn't want to lock up the bunny because she said it seemed so happy being king of the chicken run, now she knows its more important to be a caretaker. We are driving three hours tomorrow one way to get a bunny that is the most look alike one she could find in the state of Arkansas of the late great Thumper, american standard chinchilla bunny extraordinaire.

our mother cat brought home a baby bunny, live, and put it in with her 7 kittens .. the kittens were just about the same size as the bunny.. for over a half hour nothing happened. then all of a sudden one of the kittens realized that the bunny was not one of them. she made one quick jump and the bunny was dead.. took me totally by surprise.. I didn't think kittens that young would do that.
