we (obviously) don't have dollar stores over here,but we do have poundland. I can't think of anything I wouldn't get from there if they had it when I needed it - they don't have a refridgerated area so don't sell meat etc but I totally love poundland! Sometimes you get things that are costing WAY more elsewhere in there - I bought a £12 toy for my nephew a few years ago for £1 in poundland... well worth it!
They do their own stuff too, but you can get brand name things in there which seem to make up most of their stock. I think it's all surplus stuff from elsewhere.
