Only 147. Then I set everything I had laying around even some mixed bantams, they are the last of my mixed bantam flock that is no more, they have gone to live with my friend.
I did some major house cleaning and chicken shifting to make room for the new flocks I have growing out in my brooders/grow out pens. After Paulettas visit and chicken drop and my other friends came the next two days to pick up what I hatched or sent to their places I am in major chicken depression. So I am planning an Ohio meet up / swap with some of our members here.

Once the heat let's up we have some pens to build.

I am hoping to go to. So far Hubby said he didn't mind if I go.

Its about a 2 hr drive for me one way. Though I will probably have to bring my 4 kids. Good thing I have a Dvd player in the truck.

What are you looking for besides Icelandics? I've got eggs coming out of my ears.

Something that will play well with others (mixed pen) and be friendly to people (no flightiness or the like). Dark eggs, maybe? Got birds in the incubator for white, brown, green, and blue eggs. Dark brown would complete the color spectrum :)

OK, you chicken selling experts, question! I have officially started having a chicken boom. I mostly advertise on CL, since there aren't shows or swaps around here. How seasonal is this business? I know the feed stores that do have chicks around here have mostly stopped carrying them, and I'm sure that is part of it. But does it stay this way through the summer and stop in fall? or will it go all year. I started in Febuary, and know I had good sales then....

And judges, I have 8 or 10 FCBM eggs I cant fit in my bator, and some oe's if you want to work something out!

I checked my silkie eggs tonight and my heart is broken out of 8 eggs only one is developeing. I know its not the bator this time as my mini is working perfectly now and holding steady temps. Those little girls are going to be so sad. I dont think I will have money for buying more eggs for a few months as I have to buy all my sons school clothes and supplies and shoes and back pack and pay school fees ect. I wish someone that had eggs or chicks lived close so I could pick them up Im not shure whats happening but if its not on my end then it has to be the post office dosnt it.

I've had similar bad luck. They're just fragile little guys. Right there with you on the school stuff! Seems like I should have more summer left. and more money left!

We can't have that can we. I candled the other night and took out 40:(

Now if the 2 auto turners are not full 82 thenI will really panic.

This week I'm going to set everything I can get my hands on. I have a 4-h kid who wants to grow them out and sell Them at the fall swaps. Then I swear I'm unplugging the bator.
