I sprinkle it on them too, but never tried feeding it to them although it's supposed to help with parasites.  I have given cayenne pepper for worms and they don't mind that one bit.

They dont have the proper receptors to taste the heat of the capsacin in peppers. Supposedly cayenne pepper is the only kind that "works". Its supposed to help along a hen to start laying eggs.

I mix a good amount of black and/or cayenne pepper in my winter feeds and it seemed to help this last winter. I got eggs from most of my girls all winter even on the coldest days......It increases blood flow and can warm from the the inside out! My blood pressure is really low most of the time and my obgyn told me last summer to eat a lot more pepper in my diet to increase blood flow to my legs. I was pregnant and had cramps in my legs from the pressure and low bp. It seemed to work my bp went up a few points and the cramping wasn't so bad.....

I've read alot that cayenne pepper will get hens to lay but I've never tried it. What form do you use. I've seen the kind thats ground up thats used as seasoning and i've seen whole peppers dried and packaged. I've also on occasion seem them in the produce section. Whats best to use?

On the DE, I sometimes sprinkle a little on their feed and I'll pour some in their favorite dusting spots. The quail I put some in a shallow dish and they roll and flop like crazy. They would do this everyday if I gave it to them everyday. It's funny to watch them dusting themselves.

Not to depress anybody but I just found out 2 hours that my grandpa passed away about noon. I was never real close with him but I hurt for my dad.

It hits a nerve when I see how so many animals are abused and neglected. I get angry at the people that could do such a thing and my heart breaks for the animals that have had to endure such cruel and inhuman treatment and torture. My grandson practically keeps the TV on the Animal Planet and it shows the animal police all morning and to see all the horrible things people do to animals and all they get is a spank on the hand for it. It's unjust they don't have to really pay for the pain and suffering the animals have had to go thru. Animals are pretty much allowed to be abused. To slap a fine and put the abuser in jail for 30 to 60 days for the most horrifying things is a crime in itself. They should have to go to prison as far as i'm concerned and be treated like the animal they abused and or neglected. See how they like it. They shouldn't have any rights as far as i'm concerned.
