My Silkies are in a mixed color flock with a Si22le roo over them as the dominant roo....but...I have like 3 orders waiting for the dumb clucks to get off the broody wagon. I haven't even let them keep any eggs & they are sitting on empty nests

Oh no! Sounds like one of my Orpington hens! No matter what, she sets. She can be on an empty nest, one egg, ten eggs, they're all the same to her. I also have a black Silkie who loves to go broody in the corner on just one egg. She'll raise the chick, lay one egg, and go broody again. It's pretty pitiful. Even if I take the eggs, these two hens insist on setting...

I have tons of very cool, some hard-to-find books that would appeal to a lot of people here (I think), plus I'll have hatching eggs, and who knows what? I'd be interested in a tee shirt from Sugar Sand Farm, just having browsed quickly through the responses.

Having a limit of the number of swaps a person can do each week would have it's downside, if the items were cheap to send, for example (like books) but could help keep people from getting overwhelmed with packaging and shipping and the costs associated with that... I like the honor system idea, but apparently some folks got burned Maybe add an addendum to the limit rule by allowing more swaps if the "over limit" party sent their stuff first?

I think the limit is in place so everyone gets a chance to claim something.

Yup, I agree there are times I am out of swaps by Tuesday and do a few side swaps. By the time I mail out sold eggs, swaps and side swap, I could have $100 in shipping. So it's good there are limits
