Ugh.... The dreadful school days starting. My kids go back Monday. Not looking forward to it. My 2 yr old is going to be bored without his brothers and sister.

Mrheinz, I feel your pain! I have a BA in English and a minor in History. This year I'll be teaching both (only person in the school who is part of two departments) again for the fifth year. I've been moved again with a three week notice before school started. This will be my fourth classroom in five years. I also kept getting whiney complaining phone calls about coming out to move on my own time. I gave after the third, dragged my three kids out with me to box up everything and meet with the custodians who would be helping me move all my junk down two flights of stairs. Of course no elevator. Monday I got a call from our secretary who wanted me to driven hour round trip out to the school to move textbooks off a bookshelf so they could move the bookshelf. Thing was, they had to move the books too...so why again did I have to drive out there??

Sorry, didn't mean to unload! I love teaching teenagers, I hate politics and stupidity . It makes me rant and I apologize!

Good luck the both of you teaching this year. It really is hard to go back and put tons of unpaid time into getting a classroom ready for the school room; especially when there is still some summer left. I taught first grade for years (love those little energy-drainers), but have taken a couple of years off to make sure that I can truly be there for my teen & between kids. I don't like being grumpy at the end of the day when it should be about my family. I miss the kids terribly and the politics - not a bit. Every year it seemed, I had to pack stuff and move it from place to place because they wanted to do some maintainence of some kind. Okay - one year it was the whole school because the roof was caving in. I feel for both of you and truly wish you the best of luck. September always stinks - but October is much better
