Down to 2 chicks. Of course it had to be the favorite and the only one I don't suspect to be a rooster. The details are in the Idaho thread but suffice it to say sometimes well-meaning neighbors suck.

i'm so sorry about your chicks! I don't know the details but I know how broken hearted I am when I loose any of mine. have you heard of fermented feed? Ive been giving my chicks and big birds for almost a year and not lost a bird/chick since. they love it!! the best of luck for the 2 remaining..

In a nutshell: The neighbor saw my dog sitting in my driveway and didn't want her to get hit by a car so put her in with my chicks. The dog knocked over the pen trying to climb out and I didn't see any damage initially but an hour later one of the chicks started acting sleepy and died...and it was my daughter's 5th birthday and her chick.

I was made to promise a new chick and with my older two being 4 weeks that translates to several new chicks. Lol

yikes! that was nice of the neighbor to try and be helpful BUT i can see how you can be upset. again so sorry! i hope you and your daughter can find some chicks to help ease the pain..wish we lived closer, i would let her come and pick some out that are hatching this fri...

I received a beautiful white dress and some seeds from rbaker yesterday. Thank you! Now for the snow to melt and the ground to thaw so I can do some planting.

What kind of chicks are you looking for? I have some cuckoo marans. I also have some others. If you just paid to have them shipped I could send you some.

oooh, silkie your soap is delicious! i tried them last night---oh my heaven! my eggs look perfect...they are still resting on my dresser i will put them in later today. i just love the runner eggs! my daughter nearly had a cow from over excitment! we both are so excited about the new blood that will go into our flock when they start laying...

your eggs are almost ready...collecting fresh but this weather is not helping! hope you and your family isn't getting to much of this weather. stay safe!!
