If you guys want leghorn look alikes or lots of pretty blue eggs, I highly recommend the Arkansas Blues. Mine (except when the weather was cold) are laying like troopers. I'm getting about 18 or 19 eggs a week from 3 hens that just turned a year old.

I'd totally love some, I've been watching you offer them, but haven't had any PP to offer. I'm also nearing the end of my incubating season. I just started rehearsals, and with the weather getting hotter, I don't have time for chicks, and it's getting to hot to ship.

I just deep cleaned my chicken coop,for the first time. I've had my original hens for about a year now, and I am doing the deep litter method. I was surprised at how dry and dusty it was!! I was expecting it to be wetter underneath...

Well, I'm back home. Not only am I sick, both my parents who are in their 80's have had problems since I've been gone and I'm trying to get them to see the doctors. My dad has some kinda of leg infection and I think my mom had a mini stroke. I've been going over every night to help them with my brother's three kids that they babysit till 8 o'clock each night. I have the littlest one reading books to grandpa for .25 a book and least it keeps him out of trouble till I get there. I also had a sick chikcken that I ended up losing having her necopsied at UC Davis to find out what went wrong. Just finished unpacking 10 minutes ago and will start working on shipping out everything I owe.

Oh, to top it off, my MIL wants to move back in with me. No way I can do it and keep my chickens too.... so guess who won? I was misstreated so bad on my "Vacation" that I don't feel bad about saying no.

Will keep everyone posted on my progress. Egg Cosies just need to be joined at the edges and they are all done.

My sister inlaw died yesterday not surprised really because she got down to 75 pounds. She had copd and still smoked, crazy. So I will have to host some people this week end. Plus take care of my swaps I am not finished with, do something with all the eggs in bator that didn't hatch Tuesday, don't know what to do with them.

Does anyone have reese's address?? I have some raspberry starts to send her, they're soaking in a bucket, just need to wrap and box them up, but I need an address first, lol...

Kimmie!! that stuff is stressful!

If there's not a chick in them, I break them open and cook them and give them back to the birds... the ones with mostly developed chicks I just throw away, I've heard of people that feed them to their pigs, though...

How do you send raspberry starts?

Won't the eggs be yucky? Rotten or will they look like an egg still, not sure I can do it.
