I've been thinking of giving away my daughter's Buff Orp, it is picked on by the other birds and roosts by itself at night. I think it's because she is the only non-black or red bird...anyway I noticed her hanging out around the silkie/showgirl pen a couple times and yesterday I left the gate open to see what she would do. She walked right in like she owned the place and seems happy. She spent the night with them in their little coop and no one was beat up this morning so hoping maybe I found a solution until I get more BOs

Sometimes animals know whats best before we do LOL

Need a rant. Called sewing store to see if I could get lucky and find a cheap used Bernina. Tell her I'm looking for an inexpensive entry level machine. I usually use them hard and throw them away in a year or two. Sales person tells me so happy how they start at $4,500 for a used one and go all the way to over $10,000.

Lady, that's more than most people's cars. Not that I couldn't get into one of those if I wanted one, but I said I didn't need all that embroidery gunk on it. Seriously, how often do you walk down the street and see anyone wearing any embroidery?

Bernina's are NOT that expensive for a good sewing machine! Yes, the embroidery machines are, but a regular, basic sewing machine is not. My Mom and sister both have Berninas and have had several different ones over the years. I have a Janome and LOVE it! I got my first one at an auction for $65-it was a $700 machine, and was only used a few times. I just found another one at a garage sale (same model about 1-2 years older) for $20 this summer.

Thank you so much, can't wait for spring now so they can show me how nice my house will look. It will be 1 year on Oct 8th since I bought the house and finding extra cash to buy plants isn't easy LOL

Raspberry jam and nanking cherry jelly came in today's mail from coldupnorth as well as a surprise dish towel buried in the packaging. Thanks!! What a nice surprise and I can't wait to try the preserves!!

I signed up for an extension class next week so I can learn how to do this jamming and pickling myself!

I got my Hallmark ornaments from Ruthless today - kids get an ornament every year for Christmas and some of these match their birthday years.
