I see quite a few of you make goats milk soap- I have 3 Nubian Does due to kid in Feb, and I'm hoping to milk them and make soaps and such. I'm new to this, and most of my friends are not 'farm' people.

Does anyone have an easy 'recipe/instructions' they'd be willing to share? I found some online, but wondering if anyone here has a basic one they've had good sucess with. Also, do you drink the milk? I'm hoping that its not a drastically different taste than cows (read different opinions) and I can get my DH to drink it, and maybe cut down grocery coats and be slightly more farm self sufficient.

I'll share. When you get ready, Holler

Thank you. I'll hollar now, as I'm looking to buy some milk soon, so I can maybe have a clue what I'm doing and all the supplies I need by the time I have my own milk. Lol

Goats milk doesn't take too much different than cows milk unless you're used to drinking skim. And its easier to digest and a whole lot better for you. We are one of the only countries in the world that drink cows milk over goats.

I agree on the milk.It didnt take much to transfer our family of 6 onto goats milk.the cheese is so wonderful tasting too.very rich and delicate.
yumm cant wait for ours to be back in milk.although the break from milking 2x a day is nice for awhile.
im thinking your family will enjoy it

We drink goats milk and cows milk here. I can't tell the difference. My son and my mother say they like the goats milk the best.

It is so much better than the store's milk. We are drinking milk store milk for the first time in 1 1/2 years because I dried up my cow and my goats as they are all pregnant. I am trying to find raw milk locally. I can't take the store milk much longer. I only have until Feb to start having my goats milk again.
