I'm glad to hear so many enjoy it. My DH drinks a lot of milk and I'm hoping now that we have our own eggs, we can also switch to the goat milk too. Every lil bit helps nowadays, and letting the animals help 'pay for themselves' makes it easier to keep them all. Do you all pasturize, or drink it fresh? Or do you even have to pasturize goat milk?

Ok... goat milk question. Do you drink it raw or do you have to do something to it.
I haven't had goats in about 10-11 years and have been toying with the idea of goats again. I'd love to try to make cheese....

BHep --I milked goats for several years, we drank it cold but fresh not pasturize.

Some people pasturize. I personally wouldn't. It kind of defeats the whole purpose of raising and milking them yourself.

Hi everyone, just a note to say THANK YOU to All American Chick for the awesome eggs that came in today!

I officially have 107 eggs set and I hope they candle well. I think it's time for another bator. Thankfully these are not all for me. I have turned into a foster bator mom.

I am gifting some for my sister who wants to get into raising chickens and a friend who does not have a bator but does already have chickens. I think I need to help my sister build an enclosed run and chicken house for 10 chickens. Should not be tooo bad.

I think I have more D'Uccles coming. I am hoping out of 107 eggs at least 60% are fertile and hatch. But 90% came through the mail so it's always ifie

(another word not in the dictionary)

Plus I have a bunch of 4Hers that would like chickens. I will have to get withthe 4H leaders and see how that works before I turn over chickens. I just really need to know they can truely provide for the chickens and it is not a passing phase. I know till they eat it or sell it. UGH the pain of seeing the babies grow up.

But back on a happy note. It will be crazy hatching times at 202 roosterlane from 26 December to 1 January. Ohhhhh I wonder if any will hatch one day early on Christmas Day???

OHhhh I know right!?!

I did the New Year hatch but I don't know if any of these guys will hatch early for Christmas Day. I want them to be healthy but you and both know they hatch when they want too. I have had them hatch 3 days early and 5 days late. It's crazy. Crazy fun! I may need to buy some more barred rocks from you if my sister picks out all of mine. I told her they were off limits.
