Had to, it's 98 degrees out. baked the cupcakes, into the freezer to cool. pipe on frosting (used a star tip, it melted in the 2 mins it took me to pipe), into the freezer for 5 to firm it up. placed chicks in the semi-firm frosting, 5 more in freezer to keep them in place. Split the toppers into 3 batches for 8 cupcakes at a time The mickeys i'll make a sugar cookie and royal icing to glue on the fondant medallion we go back to disneyland next month.

edit: kept them oin the shelf untill the last step, so the humidity wouldn't hurt them.

I'm hoping those blackberry lilies get offered again.

But I love seeing all the offers, some get awfully tempting.

How am I going to use any swaps tomorrow. If anybody sees any BBS Orps, they better "Mine" for me and post as my swap Hosta or Lilac starts, Jim will e-mail a picture when he can get on his phone or computer. Does everybody understand their job?

Jim

Oh I need some good ole bycing to get my mind off of the grossest, scariest, most creepy book I've ever read. I just told my husband it's the only book I've ever read that made me feel like I need to vomit.

It's called cannibal. You can guess what it's about.(true story too) Seriously considering not finishing it.

I think this may be a good solution. I got eggs last year that arrived just like you explain in your post. The box of eggs was taped within the post office tote and delivered to me in the tote with a note asking to return the tote to the post office or sit beside my mail box once I removed my package. It was the best hatch that I ever got from shipped eggs. I guess we have to talk our local post office into placing our boxes into the totes.

Ayeupchuck - Your eggs are going out tomorrow. I will see if I can get my post office to use this method. Keep your fingers crossed.

Sorry that you got a smashed and cracked eggs. I put tons of bubble wrap in the box to help cushion the eggs. I sure hope the kids get some of those turkey poults they have been wanting. Keep me posted.

I think the service you are referring to is called "Special Handling" and the downfall to that is that additional $7+ fee for the service on top of the regular postage price.

I did see somewhere I believe here on BYC about that very service last year and those saying not to waist the $$..

I may need to try it once just to see what happens.

Some eggs have come for me this way. I watch my clerk take them out of the crate. She called the sorting facility to see how to ship the eggs. She didn't like egg mess on her other mail.

She said when she sends eggs for me she puts them in their own crate but has never put the sign on it. She kept that sign so she can make copies of it at home to put on my packages without charging me any extra. Maybe it is just small town service trying to keep your post office open so you have a job. Sharon really cares and wants me to have the best hatch and have others have good hatches too.

Natalie-I sent your blackberry lilies last week. Did you not get them? They were my part of a side trade. I'll have to find the DC#. Your were sending me something this Fall.
