So we are down into the high teens, low 20's for the next day or two. I have chicks hatching every few days and have been worried about them as brooders are in the garage. Even though they are very well insulated boxes they still have plexi doors so some cold can get in. Last night I put a thick uhaul shipping blanket over the front just as added protection and everyone did fine. However today I had to add some new chicks and still very much worried about tonights dipping temps. DH brought to my attention we have an electric heat rock upstairs that was our snakes. Let me tell you it works AWESOME in a brooder!!! The chicks are all over it and seem to be very content.

So if anyone see's one at a thrift store or goodwill or even your local pet store, pick one up!

Yeah, we slacked this past month and soo need to get back on the treadmill. I too am having cravings, just had to pull myself away from the kitchen as a bowl of cereal sounds soo good right now.
