UGh..i posted on a thread..ill probably have tons of people up my butt in a few minutes ripping me a new one. As much as I HATE the way we have to do auctions now. Im biting the bullet and being patient..Im not going anywhere to auction my eggs off...Luckily I dont have a full working farm..Chickens and my breeds are my hobby..I feel for everyone who relies on selling eggs to survive for their farms...but its time for survival mode and we have to make the best of it ...right guys? I might be selling off a few breeds just to make the food bill lighter..Will it suck..yup BUT it is what it is ....

I have some on CL and heading to the auction tomorrow with some younger birds.
I have been lucky selling my hatching eggs on CL.

I am sold out of most breeds this week and have some orders for next.

Being patient is great, but I must either feed the chickens or eat them. I listed auctions but people are so confused they are unsure about bidding. I would love to stay with BYC, but now it is incompatible with my browser. I have a new computer and a new phone, still struggling here. Good luck all. Deb

Deb... what browser do you have?
It is free and EASY to upgrade. It was 1 or 2 clicks, the PC does the rest. There is even a thread here to help upgrade, you find your browser on the list and click it. EASY PEASEY !
As far as the phone... I have no clue, I gave up my Blackberry 2 years ago.

I am really sorry for those of you that are having such a hard time right now with all of these changes, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Many people are struggling with it all right now. I know it is very frustrating, believe me.

I also believe things will improve as they tweak the system and listen to all the feedback they are getting. I am sure BYC does not want to run a forum where a lot of people leave unhappy.

Also do get help with getting your browser updated to make BYC faster and easier to use. It is a big change for all of us.

Please ask some specific questions if you can on some of the update help threads and see if you can't get things working better. I found answers to several things just reading thru all those threads.

Can you give bidders any more specific instructions in your listings?

Best of luck whatever any of you decide. I understand having to feed the animals and yourself right now.

Good suggestions Beth and thanks for the link to that thread on # of auctions.

BTW, ebay became so unfriendly to sellers with changes a couple of years ago that I quit selling there after 5 years. They kept taking more of my money and giving buyers a lot more benefits than the small time seller.

I also would NOT buy eggs off ebay.

I'm not sure how long it's been since you have listed on ebay but they now give all sellers 50 free listings a month and only take a fee if your item sells. They have also lowered their selling fees.

Sad to hear those say they won't buy from ebay, especially since quite a few fellow byc'ers have already gone back to listing there. It's a nice idea to give byc time to sort things out on the auctions but for many waiting for that to happen is not an option.

i have posted a few times on ebay with our eggs- you get some that understand that hatching eggs are a risk and others that complain about things that the post office did to them- then they want a whole refund because the po broke 2 eggs, even if I included extras. I would rather sell on here or just trade eggs. At least we all understand that the po can be late or rough with the packages.

as for the auctions- can the ones list the breeds they have and since the auctions stay open all the time- you can maybe list it as 12 eggs etc. your pick of the following breeds.
and when they sell you can amend your post or list when the next batch will be ready.

just a thought for now. until they get the system working.

I sold 4 of my precious birds lately but no one wants a free rooster. i dont know how to process him or know of anyone who does and he is a nice rooster- not mean to people great flock protector ect. but i just cant feed them all as short term disability has taken a toll on our finances this winter.

I am going back to work monday eventhough i am no better and the dr has not found out what is wrong with me yet. we found about a dozen things not wrong with me. sigh.

I hope that the auctions will work out by the end of the month for everyone- i would like to put some on there in the future as well.

Deb...dont give up..i dont have it on my phone either! Well i do but sooo slow..so i just dont bother...my computer was deadly slow too but i upgraded my browser like beth said...its super fast now!

Go to your profile and way down at the bottom go to make a list.

Also Fabric or paper as long as I can have it made for me. I want to put them on my aprons and I want them to have my name on them and also my biggie "Made in the USA" Nothing is made in the USA anymore.
