It was the plane at the airport that told my post master that. Don't think I can get around it.

Yes, you can reuse the chick boxes and the other boxes just can't make your own anymore. I feel bad for those that don't know and they send the birds back like they did to me. No warning or anything. Also for those that want to know the post office informed me today to that they no longer will allow chicks to be sent in the winter no matter what box it is or how warm if it is wintert hey don't ship until: Spring, summer or fall. Would have been nice to know before I paid to ship and they went in the mail for 2 days and rerouted to me. They dropped or threw the box because chick were buried in the box. I have 6 in the brooder now that made it. Sadly they killed the rest.

For the adult birds you are supposed to use the birds with the bio-filters only, also. I had a heck of a time with a customer last summer who refused to believe me when I told her about the regulations. Not only that, when I told her that I could not overnight the birds because the PO would not do it anymore, (except day old chicks), she also refused to believe me, insisting that her friend "does it all the time".

Just the thought that someone was so callus to a box of live, helpless chicks infuriates me. I'm not a animal activist or anything close to it, but only a very cruel individual would see a box marked LIVE Animals and think it okay to throw it.

Someone else had a box of eggs returned from the airplane (Fed Ex transferring for USPS) because they couldn't take live animals over a weekend

The post office is in terrible monetary trouble, you'd think they would do whatever it takes to keep people using them.

Yep, I just sold a bunch of little ones that looked like that one.

Thanks! LOL I was at a loss if it was blue or a painted type of black or what! Gray, she is...now what to name her.

one more cutie to share - this is an EE from Michelle I think.. do you recognize her?

Awww...... He grew up to be such a handsome boy. I miss my peacocks so bad. The guy that was here yesterday has the same problem that they can't thrive in our weather.
Reese here is the black shoulder peacock you sent me in Oct of 2010

That was me..... I will not ship eggs on weekends anymore, as a matter of fact, I have just recently stopped writing "Hatching Eggs" on the box. I just write "Fragile" & "Please handle with care, Thank You" Apparently, Fed Ex does the air freight for the PO.
If they are going to change the rules or start enforcing the rules, then they need to post that information somewhere.

There will always be one complaint or another... I am just thankful that shipping eggs or chicks is still aloud, I pray that the PO or Fed Ex don't decide to cut that service out altogether.
