I got my Quad of Bantam Marans today from Country Line Hatchery.

So excited. Now I just need my EE's to grow up so I can throw some girls in there with my Maran and get some Olive eggers.

Question: If I throw first generation Olive eggers in with a maran roo. Would that give me darker olive eggs or would it screw up my olive eggers.

You will get darker olive eggers, but be careful as too much marans can start to look brownish green so its important to infuse some blue egger if that starts to happen and to select only eggs of the most desirable shades to hatch for your next generation. I have 3rd gen OE's but have a ameraucana in there to maintain "greenness."

I have checked fertility and have little veiny dots going like crazy. I just wanted to swap some with someone else or get back into swapping. I have been avoiding BYC since the change over but well, I have no control.

Lol....Beth if I was guaranteed sweet loving Sebbies..id do it in a heartbeat! Wintering them would be tough where I live;( But boy the sure are pretty!
