So happy with my last hatch! My last two hatches have been dismal; so I was worried. I upped the moisture in the bator and that may have made the difference. I set 22 at lockdown and 16 hatched

Of the other 6 - two pipped and started to zip and then died

. 15 of the eggs were shipped - MrHeinz and a Feb. Egg Swap. Most of what I got from Jim hatched - including this adorable little NN. 7 were our own and only one of them did not hatch. My Feb. Egg Swap eggs didn't fair as well - the only one that pipped died after zipping half-way around the shell. Most of the eggs that didn't make it were very large compared to the others. Could that make a difference?

Unfort, for me, my last hatch wasn't great. A lot of eggs at lockdown and 11 hatched. 3 have foot/leg issues, including my 1 Lav Orp.

Patricia, I'm sorry your hatches aren't being more agreeable.

Sometimes i'm jealous of all ya'lls incubator chicks, but then when I hear the sad stories, I'm grateful that I don't have the sorrows that go with the hatches.

Well Samantha is officially SAM. He crowed this morning. Was a cute tiny crow for his first.

Well this is a silkie I bought or swap eggs from one of ya'll. Needless to say one of Gwendolyn's favorites. I think it's a roo but she calls him Samantha. Poor sweetie puts up with her because he loves the attention. I guess you never know what happens to those eggs when you send them all over the US what will become of them.

Some will have many girlfriends and have lots of babies and some will join the circus. Trust me, this one if very well pampered and fed. I have to give "Sam" extra meal worms for being so good and gentle with DGD.

OMGoodness, probably Dollar General or the Dollar Jewerly Galore store. Sometimes I take Gwendolyn there and let her pick out 20 items. They have everything there and for a buck, it's not so painful if she breaks it or loses it at school.

We do not have a Dollar Jewerly Galore store. That bites. Our Dollar Tree stores do not carry much jewelry at all, or hair stuff. Well maybe at x-mas time they do, b/c that is where I get all the kids stocking stuffers....lol

Ha. I guess I'll have to send you another envelope full of this stuff...

I have 3 more chickens arriving today. ?How'd that happen? I'm trying to get rid of one and I get 3?? One Speckled Sussex and two IBs. I sold her the IBs and now I'm getting them back... darn economy is to blame. I'd say more but this is a nonpolitical, family site... Anyways, I am getting a chain link dog run, too. So I guess my idea of a bachelor pad is coming to fruition.
