I'm on cloud 18 today. I got 5 of the 8 silkies I ordered from Bobbi Porto and they are absolutely gorgous. Wasabi the black roo is to drool over. My black hens are already SQ and Wasabi is gonna make the offspring just perfect. I have yet to get my bbs pen split up. I put him in with the paint girls and paint cockereal for now till we get the wall up in the bbs pen sowe can separate the blacks from the splashes. I'm selling all my blue silkies so no more bbs pen soon.

So, I found some barred plymoth rock bantam hatching eggs and some rir bantams and I got to thinking about the black star LF hen out in my barn...

aren't black stars --- BRxRIR = sex links. aren't the males yellow and the girls black.... its been a while since i got blackie so I could be wrong.

was thinking i could make my own bantam sexlinks.

anyone here know?

I BELIEVE......... the males are barred the females black.
RED Sex Links have yellow male and red female

Marie, I would LOVE to see pictures of your new babies! I am very pleased with most of the chicks I hatched from you!

I sold the three partridge babies, and kept the rest. There is one that hatched from an egg that was marked white that is feathering in completely strange! I will have to get a picture of it to see what you think it could be!

Red rooster + barred hen = bantam sexlinks. Hens only give barring to male offspring. Male chicks wi have spot on head.

This is what I've been busy with. My coworkers found it on my day off and decided since I have chickens, then I should have a dove. Their theory being that the chickens would take it in and mother it.
