It would be, but you have to have done a superb job packing them. Fragile items like that have to be bubble wrapped, placed in a box with about 2 inches of styrofoam peanuts all around, then that box has to be placed in a bigger box with 2-3 inches of peanuts surrounding it! I used to wrk at a ups store and my bosses loved seeing dishes come in, it was like a 50 buck packing job, add the fact that the boxes always ended up being oversized and got charged more on shipping.

Flat Rate my be cheaper as well.

Weight is definitely something to keep in mind when picking swap items.

Just wanted my egg swappers to know that I am putting a light in the coop to try to get the buggers laying again. If this dont work soon I'll look into buying some to send you guys. Sorry this happened. This is why I hate swapping eggs. Seems like they always quit laying on me whenever I offer a swap.

Did you try a flat rate priority box on those plates? I am not sure how big they are but if they fit into a large flat rate box(12" x 12" x 5-1/2" ) it's $14.95 and if they fit into a medium flat rate box ( 11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2) then it's $10.95. The USPS web site states that both boxes can be used to ship up to 70 pounds.

it is a sad day for me, I got the longtailed bantams a while back, they were too young to be laying and I have finally seen the roo acting like a roo for a couple of weeks, went out to the pen last night after work, and found the hen, she appears to have paratyphoid. I blame the rain. She was fine in the morning and then at night she was like that. I could be overthinking it though as the coop has a low top and she and the rooster liked to roost on the roof of the roosting bar, she may have accidently hurt herself getting down... but I havent seen her roosting high for a couple of weeks I think she has been on the ground. So I honestly think it is paratyphoid, I will get to TSC and grab something for her and hope she can make it through, but it has effected her brain severly, other than the crooked neck she looks to be in good condition, her poo is fine, she was eating a drinking in the morning yesterday. I am so angry, I really wanted to have little baby yokohamas! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I am so mad I could cry and I probably would BUT this past two weeks has been awful. We are lucky the house didnt go up like a matchbox, the breaker box had gone bad and all of the lights were flickering in the house, the power would pop on then off, and it killed the air conditioner, it will not work anymore in the livingroom. So all we have are the a/c units in the bedrooms, good thing it is cooling off now, but that means we will have to replace that darn livingroom unit again before summer WE JUST BOUGHT THAT last year! UGH. Found a Moccasin on the porch the other day, and two others that appeared to either be cottonmouths or moccasins, not positive, they got away. BUT on a happy note, the pigeons (fantails) have started setting another set of eggs, I have two baby ducklings, and a bunch off GLC/EE and acouple of white ees and a couple of BOs

I still have a hen setting on the 4 eggs I have left from Nat, and they are developing fine one has a really wonky aircell but it is doing okay so far. Then I got a bunch of eggs from the mystery swap yesterday, they are under another hen
