When I took my son to the hospital with chicken pocks, they made me take him around to a special entrance in back of the hospital. It was a long walk with a heavy child, but at least no one else caught it from him.
Sorry you are sick. Maybe I will go get my flu shot tomorrow . I can't afford to get sick.:p

I have never in my life been allergic to any of the poison plants like poison oak, sumak or ivy. But something sure got me all whelped up, oozing and itching. Everyday there are new spots. It's been going on a few weeks now. I finally came to the conclusion it has to be from a plant. Normally chiggars attack me so the first couple I thought where that. Then they got worse and I thought I must have gotten bitten by the brown recluse that have been all over the place. After a few days there was no pain just itching and I was confused. I just insisted it can't be a plant because i'm not allergic.

Well...............I'm allergic NOW!!! It's at the point where people keep telling me I need to see a doc. I'd rather not so I have pink spots all over me. And I mean ALL over me and i'm taking benadryl.

The itching from chiggars is worse though. But they do literally do attack me. Last time we did a count of all the bites we stopped counting at around 150. I may as well just jumped in a pool of clear fingernail polish. Much like now. I told DH to just fill the tub with it and i'll just sit in it.

And today the lady came to do the test on the birds. It's time to renew. So here I am helping her with the chickens with pink spots all over my arms and face and neck. Thank goodness thats all that was showing. The ones on my face are bad enough. I look like a lepar.

Yikes, Em, you might need some steroids to get it under control ! I had it so bad once my eyes swelled shut when I was asleep, looked like hell in the morning! My problem is I can never stop itching and then it spreads. I hear oatmeal bath and itch stop spray helps. Take care,

Meepitqueenie had the thread. I claimed it but not sure if she has more.

Here is the lone baby from the hatch. I was going to let it run a full week past the due date but something is getting smelly so its done.

Reese .. final tally, of 32, 20 hatched, 6 had apparently been clear ( I can't candle the quail eggs) 1 fully formed, but died before pipping (?), and other 5 were early quitters.
Of the 20 that hatched, 6 failed to thrive, so I have 14 baby coturnix popping around the brooder. I'd say that was very good!

Now if I can just catch the "crower" in my previous batch...he is sneaky.

Finally broke down and started the wood stove yesterday. Those 33 degree nights got to me. Al;most over the flu effects, and the forecast says I have 4 or 5 more days of no rain...life is good.

Great so glad to hear. Usually after the first week They should all be good and thriving well. I usually loose a couple in the first week also. But not near the amount as the other quail when I raised them. These guys are very hardy.
