I got my quail eggs from groundpecker today! Thank you. None were broken, all individuallywrapped, box in box. They're so cute and tiny!

Received my Precious Moments Ornaments today from crossgirl. They made it here safe and sound. Love them - thanks! I think they'll make the climate change with no problems.

Earlier this fall I had a broody hatch out 1 chick, so I went to the feed store and bought her 4 more. 3 are Belgian d'Anver and one is a porcelain (I think) D'Uccle. Please forgive the spelling if they are wrong. I have kinda fallen in love with the d'Anvers, does anyone have some?

BTW if you are curious, out of the 4 chicks 3 are boys.

I individualy bubble wrap then tape them together in rows of 3-4-5 depending on how many I am shipping. Then I put them pointy end down in the box and wrap that package with large bubble wrap and put in a box with padding. Paper or bubble wrap.
I have had one person say one egg was cracked on a beaten up box in about 55 shippments.

Also of note - I think they scramble the airsac less by shipping right side up as opposed to "floating" in the box on their side or where ever.

Just my .2 cents this seems to work really well for me.

I bubble wrap each egg and make a nest with shredded paper and set them pointy side down in the box. Sometimes I put them in an egg carton of course each egg is bubble wrapped first. It depends on how many i'm sending on if I use an egg carton or not. I also send as many extras as the ladies will lay. If I don't send any it's because the girls ar being stingey and I don't send any over 4 days old unless the buyer says it's ok. I've been told that my buyers and swappers have mostly good hatch rates. One actually had them all hatch. I tried using shredded paper in a carton and putting the egg in the carton unbubble wrapped. It was a disaster. Every time i've gotten eggs packed that way they where mostly broken.

Emvickrey: I have some really pretty silkie & sizzle chickies growing up from you. I lost 2 of them on the way. I lost a grey sizzle and another sizzle But I so have a grey silkie from you still. I will have to get some more of them eggs from you again soon.

I just wanted to give everyone an update on my health.

Dr took me out of work for a week today. maybe longer if I dont get any better.

I have a gallbladder function test on monday, dr ordered a back xray, i go back to the dr thursday.
upper and lower GI is scheduled for the 30th.

so i am out of work with no pay. but there is a short term disability that we have at work that i am looking into.

hubby got a part time job and they are going to put him on the schedule next week. so that will help some.

I want to thank all of you who have traded with me either on here or as side swaps. it is a true blessing as

i have been swapping for members of my family for gifts for Christmas for a while. this will be our Christmas this year.

my mom was going to give us her 4ft tree and when we were going out of her apartment there was a person who
asked us if we wanted to trade the little tree for a 6-7 ft fiber-optic tree. it didn't fit in there apartment.

so we traded.

little things are wonderful and meaningful when times are tough.

so on the things i am looking for list-

my daughter is in need of snow pants i am not sure what size right now but she is 14 and pretty much full figured already.
also looking for warm/thick fleece hoodies (she is determined not to wear a coat). and some winter boots.
maybe someone here has some they have outgrown.
