I got a huge speckled egg today. Anybody want to guess what it is? I'll give you a hint, its not a chicken.

But when he emailed me telling me he could only send 1, I told him nevermind then and took my offer down. He is the current offer.

That one is a sizzle. The one with the white poofy head? It's so pretty and soft as cotton. The multi colored one thats on the perch looking at Noel is Oddball. The one that changed so much. He's soft as cotton too and loves attention. I have very few pullets this time. I have yet to have a (frizzled) sizzle that is a cockereal though. There are more still in the grow pen. They've grown so much I had to get some out so they had room. I also put some keepers in the bbs pen. This spring when I sell off the ones I decide not to keep is going to be a heart breaking spring. I love them all. We go in the pens and they crowd around us looking for treats and petting. I've got several grey soft sizzles, partridge soft and smooth sizzles. Amd I'm very pleased with the silkies too. I have many that will grow up to be SQ. They're all poofy and all have tight wings, blue earlobes, black skin, 5 toes, dark eyes and toe spacing is right on with many of them. It's just wait and see how the feathers do. Right now they appear to have the short back if thats what it's called.
Here's a better pic of the smooth sizzle i'm talking about. This pic was taken a few weeks ago. It's head is so poofy it's eyes can only be seen when it looks up at me like in the blurry pic. It moved it's head just as I clicked the camera. Like they always seem to do.

And this one here.

used to look like this

She still has those mossy feathers but she looks nearly white. Some of the sizzles have dramatic changes as they grow and others pretty much stay the same. Everyday there's a surprise.

:ya:ya Oddball made the most dramatic change out of all of them and i'm sure he's not done surprising me. Can't wait to see what he looks like when he's a roo.

My GG bob whites started laying eggs 2 days ago. Unfortunately the same day they laid their first eggs something tried to get to them and injured a roo and hen. They're in the house recovering. I'm afraid the hen may loose her foot or even leg. I'm not big on amputation. I'd rather just process it instead but I have so few of them as it is. But I thought they where seasonal layers and that season being the warmer months.
