Look at my Craigslist find today. I got them for free. The lady said that the parents got Champion at the Medina County Fair.

@ Dmccann Ok, Ugh, went to mail your box and they sent me home with it. I used the box that my aereator for the riding lawn mower came in. Which came in the mail to me.... But the post man said it has a picture of sharp objects on it so I had to take it home and cover it with brown paper. (sharp objects ?!?! It's a re-used box.

Needless to say our tiny walmart did not carry brown paper for mailing

so I had to buy white board paper. How goofy! The postal service means well I am sure, but good gravy!

Anyway, we were talking about the cost of shipping Feed bags on this thread and I wanted to let you guys know he said from Arkansas to PA, 40+ bags only cost a little over $14.00 to ship.
Now it's not Priority but still that's not bad for a big ole box CRAMED full. It's gonna pop like Jack in the box!

I can't get over how long his crest is! And his tail! How old are these chickens? Good find, and I know you'll keep them from the others for a while. I am nuts about Bio security too! Great find!

This is why they are in quaranteen by themselfs to make sure. But, they look just fine. The lady had an unexpected Hatch her hen went broody. And she hatched all males. She just wanted them to go to a good home and not be eaten. I told her fancy chickens don't get eaten around here.

Which is the truth.

They are 5 months old and they were crowing all the way home in the car.

They have sooooo much hair on there head. I can't believe it. I have never seen so much hair on a Polish head. Picture don't do them justice either. I took them tonight while there wasn't a lot of light.

Congrats Michelle of a wonderful find. QT and treat for any and all cooties so they can run around with the others someday. I am putting together your Christmas surprise box, did not want you to think I forgot

So I finally got pictures of the chicks today, I really wish I'd gotten more, for ever 5 shots only 1 was usable, they down't like to stand still! Here is a pic of my new purchases from today, a lady in town was getting rid of her entire flock because her kids stopped collecting eggs! I bet it'll be a shock to them to get home from school and mom sold 40 birds! I got there 2 hours after she posted her add and she'd sold all but 3 of her adults, so I took a 6 week old black silkie too.

I am liking those polish roos:) Tommy, love seeing the grand babies, they are practically grown! The bantam reminds me of barnevelder but I don't think they have feathered feet, so maybe a mix?
