I have been selling eggs but for real cheap. Just trying to help pay for the feed. But, I also figured they would go a little higher.

I am absolutely broke right now. We are getting the garage floor poured and hubby is building me a room in the garage with electric hookup to put the chicks in that room and out of the basement. He will be much happier then without them in the basement. So all of our money is going into this project.

On another note, Has anyone heard from Happytraylz lately. I Pm'ed here a few days ago for her number to put on the chick box for the chicks I owe her. I have never gotten a response back from her.

Don't get so frustrated with selling eggs right now. Everyones incubators are full with eggs they are hatching for easter. This is a big season for breeders. They are hatching their own eggs to sell the chicks. It will pick back up a couple of weeks after Easter.

Ive sold next to nothing in 2+ months...it sucks...The only thing ive sold are my tolbunt cross eggs...I fet good money for them but I dont offer them much And thats it...sorry Reese...ever since the byc change....I still have pretty much done nothing!

I saw your Tolbundt, They are sooooo pretty. I saved some money up from selling my eggs and birds so I could buy my kids a waterslide for Easter that I promised them last year but couldn't afford. So now I am extra broke. Plus I bought a trio of call ducks and 25+++++ of call duck egg off of Ebay. So Broke until I make some more money. I sold 4 girls and 1 boy Cortunix adults yesterday to guy that buys a lot of my stock for $15. He lives real close to me. He tried to haggle me with some of my silkie stock. My sizzles. I wouldn't sell them though them are my prides. lol.

I went to a farm swap yesterday @ TSC. Sold 5 chicks for $3, some 3-4 month olds for $15 each, sold my gorgeous Silver Penciled Rock rooster for $15 and the folks that bought him just left my house with 4 8month old hens that are laying for $15 each. So, I collected some money, I wouldn't call it "made" some money.. hee hee.. .a bit hard to make money in this chicken business. The cost of just my coops will prevent a profit for some years yet.

Still fun, though, this chicken raising. I have to be careful not to get too many, then it just becomes a chore and I forget to stop and watch the chickens.

Thats exactly it! The minute it becomes chores and not pleasure is when I know when to weed out and thin the troops!

Thanks Florida sista! I hope to do a few more of them on Spring Break next week. (between dentist and doctor's appts!)

Most of the feathers are bought from Michaels, with some of my own mixed in, and I did get one little bag of feathers from someone.
