I cannot wait until the eggs swaps start. This will be my first one. I only signed up for one, might go back and do it for 2. I hope alot join! If my SS would get back to laying I could offer even more. Silly girls! Last week we gave away 4 dozen eggs.

You could try putting bird seed in between sheets of waxed paper, then crush with a rolling pin. This breaks the husks so the baby can easily eat it. You will need to offer grit as well.

Thank you. Do you think it'll know to eat it or will I have to show it somehow? Or maybe mix in with the baby food?

You can show it by tapping with a finger, or let a chick show it how Or put some of its usual food on a spoon and sprinkle seeds on. I used to be crazy with caged birds, had aviaries inside the house. Now at least they are outside .
