I would try hanging it inside so it's more noticeable. Could be they just aren't seeing it hidden between the boards. Maybe even try painting the end bright orange or red to attract attention.

Yeah, painting it is a good idea!

I had it elsewhere in a place I thought was more visible, but they didn't get it. At least I know the older chicks drink from the nipples (when there isn't a bowl available!). I left the water bowl in the coop for the different group of chicks who tend to stay inside away from the Eng Orp Giants, so all can get some water. I'll paint this one and leave them to it and the nipples outside.

My cat is so good lol one of the Bob whites got out and was flying and running all over and any time my cat would get ready to chase Iall I had to do was say "KITTY" and he would lay on his tummy till the bird ran to close to him again lol

Ha Ha Nan....... I don't need that many guineas running a muck.

Hee Hee Reese was right. I spent the whole day working in the Serama pens adding legs and trays to the pens, this gave me a chance to listen to the 2 guniea keets all day the chocolate one is a girl, it says buckwheat buckwheat, the blue one is the boy it does that annoying keykeykeykey sound over and over. I want to keep the blue boy and now of course the chocolate girl. Is there such think as a frizzled guniea because his feathers are curly at the ends.

If you want the lav. Male Reese I'll bring him he is less than a year old.

So, My first silkie egg after the broody drought  finally hatched! I was so excited to get a  few more silkies, adn a cursory look in the brooder confirmed it wasn;t a showgirl.

...... Its a marans cross.  Must have been from when I thought constance was a girl..... CURSES! I have about 15 eggs in the  bator that could be  these crazy chickens!

I set 24 eggs thinking they were my amer x2 and turned out they were col. Sanders x 1 a little serama Cochin x who has since been rehomed. Lol.

Luckily my friend took all the chicks.

You basically have no choice.... those little buggers are stubborn !!  I have 4 broody right now, each happily sitting on 1 egg each.  :D

Do I leave the 2 hens sitting in the same box and stuff eggs under them or should I try to separate them into their own boxes? I don't really want to put them in separate pens since they are a established breeding trio. I guess the poor roo spends the next few weeks pacing outside the box waiting for them to be done?

You might consider getting some red electrical tape to put around the end, without covering the ball of course. Paint could chip away.
