So Now will they goslings be sex linked. Males being a certain color at birth and females being a differant color or no such luck.

I've got this little silkie that is gonna be a great pet. I"m not going to keep it but it's along in the brooder and it gets taken out alot and hangs out with us. It's standing on my chest right now. It was on my shoulder but I reckon it wasn't being seen so it walked around to be right in front of me. It was hatched from a porcelain roo and self blue hen. Both are birds that have won first place in both shows I put them in. One was yesterday and the other was 2 weeks ago. The chick looks lavender but there is 1 darker feather so it will probably turn out splash. I sold 2 chicks from the same parents to fellow members of a local poultry club while at a show 2 weeks ago. They entered the older one in the show and won 2 nd place. The cockerel was only 3 months old and already has a winning ribbon.

This chick I have right now had 4 toes on each foot but on one foot there is the 5th toe growing out. the other foot there is still 4 toes. So I would assume it's not SQ unless it gets shown and wins a place. It's just getting it's primaries and tail feathers. When it gets older i'll put it up for sale. So this is a heads up to a future sale for a good pet silkie for somebody. It loves to be held and when we pass it's brooder it comes to us instead of away from us like chicks normally do. It wants to be with people.

Here it is

Cute, But you won't be able to show it. It is an automatic disqualification on silkies with extra or too less of toes. It will work great for someone who is just wanting it as a pet or who don't show.

Thats what I thought but I entered a porcelain pullet in both shows recently and she got 1st place in both shows. The first show the judge didn't catch the extra toe but the second just did as soon as he turned her over.
