Whatcha Making for Supper?

I had coleslaw for dinner. And a bun.

I opened up the sealed pack of ribs to prep them and they reeked. I've been burned once before on a package of ribs from the town store. This was a different brand, but sometimes I think my town's grocery store is buying seconds, or food that has been refused, when it comes to packaged "previously frozen" meats.

I don't shop at our town grocer at all. Perhaps things are outdated there because not enough people shop there. I think the problem is food doesn't get changed out on the shelf. In the beginning when we tried that store we came home with cream past its date. We generally look at that when we buy, but for some reason didn't that day. And the veggies there never looked fresh, although that has gotten better lately. We only go in if we need something in a pinch, but that rarely happens.
