This is my 11-month old wyandotte, Anabelle. The kids were cleaning the coop this afternoon and saw blood on the floor. All the girls were in the run, acting normal. I checked the whole flock thoroughly, and no one seems to be bleeding, or have any blood on them at all, but Anabelle has this thing hanging out of her vent! Yikes! She did not lay an egg today (guessing this is why?) But otherwise she's acting normal, eating and drinking.

Can anyone tell me what this is & if this is an emergency??? Thanks so much.

Give her a human calcium citrate with vitamin D tablet or Tums now, and just break it or put it right into her beak to swallow. To me it looks like a prolapse with an egg, so it would be an emergency to try and find the opening of the cloaca. Keep the tissue moist with a mild oil, petroleum jelly, or honey so it doesn’t dry out. There should be a tiny slit where you can try to get the egg out. Here is a good video with an egg bound chicken who has a prolapse:
