my little girl has asked to be holly hobbie (70s version, whatever reason!), belle, cinderella, and...a stick of butter?

my other kids are going with the standard costumes..army guy, knight, bloody scary person, etc.

DGD has had a huge (about 15 girls) costume party every year since she was three years old, but this year, sniff sniff, she just wants a small one. She's almost 11 now and the times they are achangin. Oh, and husband is officiating at a wedding on Halloween, seems they met on Halloween.

I'll be at the Philadelphia Spectrum on Halloween nite watching Pearl Jam play the last concert ever at that venue! I plan on wearing a costume, I imagine others will do the same.

I love trick or treat though. I like to tell the kids that I'm all out of candy but have some odds and ends if they're interested. A can of spinach, or some okra... or this paper clip. You get the idea. The reactions are hilarious! One time a little boy was thrilled to take the can of tomato soup. I said to his dad, "didn't get a chance to eat dinner yet huh?" the dad laughed and said, "actually, no we didnt" Of course then I pull out the goodies....

One year I took a picture of every group of kids that came to my front door. That was fun too. Oh and another year I made them run a wide receiver route (luckily, no mishaps. I don't recommend this idea for kids in masks and costumes, but it was fun at the time)

This is my husband!! Drives me nuts!!! He's been working on his costume for over a month. He's Harry Warden the miner from My Bloody Valentine. I haven't decided what to do yet, maybe a geisha? We usually dress up and go to a Children's Hospital Benefit at the Radisson. Lots of costumes, awesome band, and great fun!

These are costumes of years gone by...

This will be the 4th Halloween for DS; he's been a pumpkin, a puppy, and a scarecrow. Some year I want to dress him up as a rooster!
