What's going on with this white thing in the egg

Several things I see going on here.. blood spots, that worm thing, and did the white stuff come out of the eggs or is that an optical illusion/other debris?

ANYONE worming with ACV.. please get before and after fecal floats to prove whether it works or not.. and IF you actually need to treat an infestation please do so with something proven effective (even wormwood is better than acv hogwash).

@Wyorp Rock @casportpony Are you familiar with this "worm" in egg? TIA

ETA: @azygous.. you often have some good info to bring to the party.. are ya free to join this one?

Good info!
I'm gonna try this.
I'm pretty sure my birds don't have worms, but it'll be good as a safety precaution.
Yeah, don't ever start an argument about it with someone who doesn't agree with you, cause you won't win 😂 It's extremely controversial. I prefer using natural remedies on my chickens and I think acv works great!

We also have meat birds (separated) and a dog. Should we worm all animals?

When worming I know there is a hold time for using eggs -- do you discontinue egg usage from now until hold period is over? (We have about 4 dozen eggs on the counter)

After zooming in and correcting the sharpness of the image, I think this is a tapeworm as I was able to see some segments on the upper part.

I also see a lot going on in the photos, meat spots, etc.

To me it looks like shedding, not a worm.

@dawg53 @Eggcessive and @coach723 may want to chime in as well.

Getting a fecal float is always a good idea. But sometimes that's not an option.

If the OP wishes to deworm, then I recommend they use an anthelmintic that would be effective in treating worms. Fenbendazole (Safeguard) and Albendazole (Valbazen) are both good choices for treating most worms that poultry have. Praziquantel will treat Tapeworms.

It is not a tapeworm. Tapeworms are COMPLETELY flat and segmented. It is not a worm. It is chalaza.

Apple cider vinegar will NOT treat any kind of worms, period. Been there, done that a long time ago. Experience is the best teacher.

I agree, it's either a chalaza or a bit of tissue from the oviduct, doesn't look like a worm to me.
Some people believe that using ACV alters the gut PH enough to help prevent worms. I've never seen any results that indicate that it really works. I deal with roundworm on a regular basis, ACV made zero difference, but it did make my waterers slimy and the birds didn't like it (perhaps because of my well water, I don't know). I don't do anything that might put them off water, they need to drink, and fresh, clean water is a big part of keeping them healthy.
The chemical wormers are necessary if you actually have worms, they are safe, and should be used when needed. I have never, ever hurt or killed a bird (or human) by worming my birds. I have lost birds to heavy worm infections. Most people who claim that ACV, garlic, etc work, I suspect have never actually had a bird with a load of worms, I have yet to find a thread or article anywhere that says actual fecal testing before and after use showed it worked for treatment. Will it prevent? I seriously doubt that, but can't prove it except by my own experience, and it hasn't worked AT ALL for me.
