Ducks are awesome, If they have the right amount of space they aren't messy at all. Mine are in with the chickens and they keep the peace between all my roosters (5). I absolutley love them!! If your husband doesn't know much about them that may be why he thinks that. Educate him. Lol.

Well, let's see, right now I have a baby chick (lol), 3 eggs that are pipped, and 6 eggs due next week that are cochin/dutch mixes, and araucana/dutch mix, but I don't think the cochins are any good. 3 buff guinea eggs(all i could find!!), and about 10 ? more chicken eggs that are all mixed with dutch bantam. He is the only 'working' roo I have atm!!!

You dunno really?
Marans are Dark Brown Egg Layers. Cuckoo Marans are patterned similar to the Barred Rock except Cuckoo. I dont want to steal the thread, but you can go to my personal pages and check out some of my Marans related information if you really want! I love Marans - oh, so do bunches of folks!
