What's Inside This Egg?!

So I have 4 RSL's that I got from a local "Small Animal Auction" on 5/24, they are adults and we're not sure of their exact age. There was some debate here as to whether they were past lying age or no. Well on 6/1 we got our 1st egg (8 days after bringing them home

) and the next day we got another, we have gotten 1 egg per day since then from 2 girls taking turns. However, this past Sunday we got an egg from a 3rd girl, but it was very... well, weird! The other 2 girls didn't lay that day, maybe chicken solidarity?! Anyway, this egg was very small, quail size even and very brittle as it broke a little just from me taking it out of the nesting box. I brought it in and laid it on a napkin on a used paper plate so that I could throw it away after dissecting it, but not before getting pics of course.

I am bringing the pics here because I failed to get answers in the 2 threads I frequent... yes, it's that weird... and kinda gross

. Hopefully someone here can shed some light on this situation for me. It's an obvious glitch in the system, but what is the glitch and does it mean her system is cleaned out and she'll start laying regularly now, or is that it for her?!

Here are the pics, thanks in advance!

It might be what they call a lash or lash egg, Sometimes they come with or inside an egg, sometimes they are just "laid" alone. They seem to think it is part of the lining of the hens reproductive system, often seems to happen with older hens and hens that are internal laying also. Old BYC thread on them and some links with other pics.

Thanks soo much Kelsie!! I skimmed through the links and think that the answer is "meat spots" as outlined on pocketfarm.co.uk. There wasn't a picture, however, the description was "spot" on... hehehe, couldn't help myself! But yeah, lash is dis-gross-ting!! I swear I'm not normally a queasy person, but those are some horrific looking things

!!

Thanks again, I'm hoping this is all it was and that she'll be laying normal eggs regularly now.
