What's killing my chicks? Hurry please

Really? I did not know this.

Yes really. It's all I use. In a clippy lamp.
I wouldn't use a real heat lamp even if someone offered to pay me to. It would overheat my chicks within minutes.

Give me 5 minutes and I'll pull out my clippy lamp and take a picture.

Yes. Hoover's hatchery sounds familiar. I have photo evidence of dead chicks so that might help. Also our FFAH is super chill so we should be fine. Thank you all for all the help. It is so appreciated and I will keep y'all updated on what happens in the morning.

I would purchase a new small bag of food first thing in the morning if I were you.

Definitely. Along with some chicks hopefully if they'll let me. Might still have to pay but it'd be nice to just get two and not deal with their three bird minimum policy.

I've brooded chicks on the old light bulbs too. Make sure the bulb heats up and don't use the curly mercury ones. Just be sure it's set up so nothing is touching it.

If you have other chicks of the same age that they recently sold you, then they should allow less if you're sure to let them know of your recent purchase. I've gotten two chicks under a 6 chick minimum policy that way before.

You can use a regular lamp if you need it to.
You just have to figure out a way to hang it upside down over a brooder.

Give me one more minute and I'll go take a picture of the other clippy lamp that I have.

Here is the other I use.
But remember...any thing that holds a regular light bulb can work.
It doesn't have to be a clippy type lamp.

Clippy just makes it easy to adjust.
