House Chickens vs. Indoor/Outdoor Dogs = House Chicken is cleaner. House chicken is allowed on furniture, dogs are not.

Chickens are dirtier! They step in poop whenever they feel like it and roll in mud.

Depends on how many chickens you have

If kept outside, dogs are dirtier. My dogs don't go poop in the house, so they are cleaner.

My dogs breath is dirtier than the chickens

dogs are cleaner........but my chickens are really clean!....as others have said...it depends how clean YOU keep your animals......
i have seen some people dirtier then my chickens!!!!......i would let my dog on the bed....but not my chickens!!!!

Good question. My dog is pretty "dirty" in the sense that she rolls in chicken poop, eats chicken poop, kills moles outside, kills wild birds ect. Then she comes over to give me a kiss.

Yeah! Talk about bad breathe!

The chickens are clean in the sense of not rolling in their own feces or eating their own feces. BUT they do step in it, poop in their coop and eat pretty nasty bugs.

My conclusion:
Both are dirty in their own little ways. Personally, I would rather let my dog in my bed then my chicken any day! But I love them all anyway.

so I'd say dogs and chickens are at a tied to dirtiness

Chickens are cleaner, IMO. Never seen one of those lick its butt. They groom themselves constantly, too. In fact, my chickens smell much better than most dogs I know, including my own dog, and that's without a bath. A vibrantly healthy chicken rarely smells bad. Dog poop smells far worse than chicken poop.

dog poop won't smell as bad if they are on a good diet. Definitely not any worse than chicken poop.

also, chickens will eat each other if one of them starts acting ill. My dogs haven't started eating each other yet.

Now, baby poop?
