I've seen threads on what breeds you want to get but I haven't seen any threads on breed(s) you don't want to get! So let me know which breed of chicken you've had and wouldn't get again, if you'd like to, tell me why.

Don’t get me wrong I love my Pekins (Cochins), but I’m not sure if I’d bother with them again. They get broody for 2 months straight, they are mean to the other chickens, they are loud, and they are escape artist. Don’t get me wrong my Silkies are also escape artists, but the Pekins seem to escape more.

I own an AustraWhite, never had plans for a high Production hybrid. Getting culled in the spring to prevent a laying disorder.

I used to own RIRs, not getting any more due to human aggressive tendencies of the roosters.

Ameraucanas. Their meat is nearly as dark as beef with small, startlingly white breasts. I like dark meat but my wife and son prefer white, and even a good sized rooster doesn't have enough for them.

I heard they have a lot of reproduction issues and live short lives, poor things
I switched to All Flock instead of Layer feed, supplementing calcium on the side if a hen wants it, I'm not sure if that is why, but my Comets & ISAs are still going strong, 5 yrs old plus. 👍 They no longer lay every single day but that's OK with me, I don't mind my seniors up to abt 10 yrs old now, I don't call them freeloaders, they do more than their fair share of gardening & surrogate mama duties, as well as keeping the flighty ones calm. ❤️
Older hens & Roos appreciate lap sitting time & hugs, too.
