They are very sweet chickens, I actually start all my babies that go outside in my silkie pen, because they do not bully like the other chickens and even the roos are usually pretty nurturing.. They are the sweetest.

LOL I'm brooding some for a friend and wasn't planning on keeping any of them myself but just fell in love with them I'm now going to keep three of them. What can I say I'm a sucker for cuties

) I adore my silkie kids! They seem to be a group all to themselves, they sleep together, walk around together, and there is one in particular, Chuckie the Chick that has started to be more interested in me (which is way cool!!) he - at least I think he is a he - runs over to me now and will kinda follow me around

OMG that video is why I won't buy hatchery chicks or commercial eggs. Poor chicks, but yes very informative & thanks for posting it.
My first pet was a Silkie hen, & I can't imagine being without a Silkie. We have about a dozen now, and a half dozen "Frizkins" (Silkie/Frizzled Cochin cross-the most persistant broodies ever!)
One of the boys tried to get tough with me the other day & I just laughed at him. He may end up moving out because of it, but for now he doesn't do any damage, just grabs my pantleg & hold on, or pecks my shoe. Testosterone poisoning

I hope I like them.
If not I'll have to find them new homes.
I don't want to have a chicken that could have a more loving home. Doesn't seem fair to the chicken.
Luckily I know some people who would probably take them.

You know Ill take at least one of them if its a pullet but if they arent then i can find them a home
