For white eggs go with the white leghorn. For brown eggs go with red or black sex links (stars) or rhode island reds. These are the best breeds for eggs and they will lay you a TON!

Umm... Honestly, I don't get the big deal about white vs. brown eggs? There is nothing wrong with the way each one tastes. All that's different is the color. The reason brown eggs WOULD taste different is because most brown egg layers live on farms with pastures and fresh air while the white eggs you get from the store are from birds stuffed in cages all their lives. So really, it all depends on HOW the bird is raised, not the color. But then again there is just personal preference...
