What's the best hatchery to get true welsummers?

There is no such thing as "true Welsummers" in a hatchery. If you want the real thing, get from a breeder.

If the price and sexing is what you want from the hatchery, Estes Hatchery would be the one I would recommend for HATCHERY Welsummers. Be prepared to be disappointed because not all Welsummers are created equal and I do know where Estes Hatchery stock came from but it has been what, two to three years since the breeder has passed on then the hatchery would have mix or don't do much culling of their Welsummers. It is a sad fact on some big breeders would sell out their best flock to end up at a hatchery.

I've been researching this same subject, and it looks as if Sand Hill Preservation Center might be a good source for you.

Thought I saw some welsummer eggs offered on the sales/auction area of BYC. You might look there and contact that breeder. Just a thought.
