I would say my favorite thing about having a backyard chicken flock is that you can spend as much time, or as little time, as you want with them. On my setup, I only have to spend a few minutes per day to open the pop door in the morning and close it at night when I lock up the coop. My feeder and waterer only have to be refilled about every 10 days. So my chickens are fine without me babysitting them. On the other hand, when I have more time, I can go out there and hand feed them treats, pile up a tall mound of grass clipping for them to play on, and just sit back and watch them being chickens in their run.

Favorite thing is their individual funny personalities: Ms Anne is lowest in pecking order. She is silly, kind, submissive, and very fast on her feet. Curry is second to lowest in line and has such a pretty face. She is smart rough & tough, selfish, and untrusting. Harriet is a wise older women that could be 1st in line if she wanted to. She is calm, smart, and makes the sweetest sounds. Ester is top of the pecking order. She is very vocal, quite friendly with people and does not like change. Harriet & Ester are inseparable besties. They're extremely entertaining to watch and had me at Hello! :love My Edit-switched out some repetitive words I used.;) Sorry I'm a total edit queen and can't help myself :hmm

My favorite thing about mine is all of them. With no kids at home now, they’ve stepped up to the plate.
All of them have distinct personalities that you come to understand. The Roos will look me square in the face about rules before letting them out to range. It’s hilarious.
The geese? Forget it
All of the feathered flock is life here. My husband and I have folding chairs we sit in at the end of the day in the goose house and discuss what they did that day. TV time has been cut drastically as they multiply. ❤️
