What's The best Ways To Breed Iowa Blues With Different Breeds?

If Only you could stay with a project, that way you will ensure you finish a task, but I know the feeling and being overburden with too many genetic/breeding projects you know you will need two lifetimes to accomplish.
I'm sticking with one at a time, not rushing.

This is one I'm planning on doing sometime in the future. Not in a big hurry to get too it.

At least you, & I both agree they're not a breed.
I didn't agree that they aren't a breed. I said....
For me they're not a "breed" I'd be interested in so either way doesn't matter to me.
Meaning I'm not interested in them so whether you think they're a breed or not doesn't matter to me.
If you want my opinion any way I'd consider them a breed since they do have a breed club and a standard.
In that regard they're no different then say the legbars which I also consider a breed.

They're only considered a breed within the club, but not officially recognized by the APA, or the SOP.

I like all chickens, whether they're a breed, or mixed breed.

Can't resist the patterning. It's very entertaining to look at.

Do you understand what the SOP is?
The SOP doesn't recognise breeds.

The origin of the Iowa Blue is still unknown, according multiple sources.
Then how would you recreate them if you don't know what went into them?
Iowa Blues never got recognized, so technically they aren't an official breed. Still considered a mystery "mutt," or a nicer term: mixed breed, pretty much.
Mutts don't breed true. Iowa blues would be an unofficial breed.

Why not just breed pretty mutts that have a similar appearance to Iowa blues?

From what I know of the breed, this coloring is pretty uncommon.

They don't exactly breed 100% true, people are still struggling with too much black pigment while trying to perfect the original coloring.

Do you like the coloring of my chick?

Here's an Iowa Blue that resembles my chick quite a bit.

Yes, but their coloring, type, and other traits are still much more consistent than a mutt.

I do. I would definitely breed her.

As I said in my previous post, that coloring is pretty uncommon. I thought that birchen was more desirable?
